Completed Images of Actual Models

NO COOLING: The image above was in an air-conditioned house at 70 degrees.  It is a 4 minute image  with the camera opening covered.  The camera was on for 10 minutes taken 1 second previews
before fresh dark frames were taken.  This helps confirm the camera had stabilized.  Please note the vertical banding chroma-noise, brighter at the bottom  as well as many hot pixels, even after fresh dark frames.  The histogram was set the same for the other images below.
NO Cooling, 80mm AT Refractor 25 x 10 second expose with calibrated Dark Frame, it shows Low contrast and very High chroma noise.
NORMAL COOLING: The image above was in the same locations and condition as above. It is a 4
minute image with the camera opening covered.  The camera was set to normal active cooling before fresh
dark frames were taken.  The cooling is regulated! Please note the vertical banding is gone! chroma-noise
is greatly reduced, the bottom and top are now the same brightness, all hot pixels are gone!!.  What an
improvement.  The histogram was set the same as above
Normal Cooling, 80mm AT Refractor 25 x 10 second expose with calibrated Dark Frame, Much higher contrast and very low chroma noise.
HIGH COOLING: The image above was in the same location and conditions as above. It is a 4 minute image with the camera opening covered.  The camera was set to high active cooling before fresh dark frames were taken.  The cooling is regulated! Please note the vertical banding is gone! chroma-noise
is now gone, the bottom and top are not only the same but the smoothness is many fold better. One more
click on the histogram the image is total black.  This is the way to use the DSI !!!
Max Cooling, 80mm AT Refractor only 10 x 10 second expose with calibrated Dark Frame, Very good contrast, chroma noise is non detected and colors more accurate.  This image was shot in less than half the time of the Non-Cooled and the Normal cooling range!!!
